Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself and tap you guys for some info.

Basically I'm a 21yearold guy that's recently moved from the UK to Vancouver Island, Canada. I'm a massive gearhead but have only played around with street/track cars up til now.
I got offered a sweet deal on a '91 Explorer 5spd manual, so thought it would be a good base to start with and get into the wilderness a bit more.

Unfortunately the day after getting the thing, the clutch slave cyclinder blew and puked fluid all over the disc - so I had to get familiar with the undersides pretty quick and got that sorted.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it now other than -
The 4x4 (push button on dash) doesn't seem to be working?
And the brake bias seems completely messed and the rear drivers-side wheel locks up under braking.

I'll have a search around for info, but any quick tips would be great!

Vancouver Island isn't all that big. Go to www.broncoii.org and look for a member there named "bbybrnk". He's local for you and has got some good RBV knowledge (and possibly lines on parts...)

As for the shift button... that's a topic that's been covered many times in many threads. Search for "shift motor rebuild" or "4x4 button trouble shooting" You'll find a TON of info.

Welcome to Canada!
