I've gotten some great info on building up my 96 Explorer sport here, much appreciated.
I did get tired of driving a 5 speed as much as I was, so I shopped around and found a 99 XLS 4x4 that fit the bill nicely. Wasn't crazy about the Gold color, but it's growing on me. The XLS trim helps it alot. Spent last weekend pulling lift parts, wheels and tires from the sport and put them on the new 99.
The sport is now for sale (will be in the appropriate forum).
Mods for the XLS so far are as follows:
2" body lift
Warrior Shackles and Add-a-leaf
Torsion Twist (only got 1.5", what gives?)
Eagle Alloys series 101 15x8
32x11.5x15 BFG Mud Terrain KM (XLS trim requires a bit of trimming by the way)
Planned:
OME shocks (coming up quick)
Tru-Trac front and rear diffs
4.10 gears
Duff prerunner light bar, modified a bit.
