I installed a new flywheel after my old one broke, but when I started it up, it makes a grinding/scraping/terrible sound from the flywheel/torque converter. I can't really isolate what the issue is. Does anybody have any clues what it could be?

I took it to a transmission shop, and they said that the starter was slightly touching the flywheel, and that I needed a new one. So, I went to Advance Auto and got a new one. Needless to say, it didn't work. But the good news is that I found that the block plate is touching the flywheel, and that is whats making the noise.

So my questions are, Do I need the block plate/oil pan-to-transmission spacer? Or can I just take it out. If I do need it, where can I find a new one?
