No Headlights

Hi Forumites,

1998 ford explorer... I have a problem with my lights. The headlights do not work. The turn signals, hazards, and parking lights work. The high beams will work if I pull back on the toggle/lever, but they will not work if I click them forward into place. The headlights do not work at all.

So far I have
- replaced both headlight bulbs
- replaced the multi-function switch on the column

No change/improvement with those two replacements. My thought was inspect the fuses next. Are the headlight fuses under the hood? side of the dash? Not sure of their location.

Is there a headlight relay that I should be looking for? Just looking for a point in the right direction. Thanks

Same thing happpend to me. Replaced the headlight switch and it started working again. Less then 20 from my local autozone.

You have to remove the radio bezel and a bunch of screws to pop out the dash piece to get to it, not difficult, but maybe 20minutes or so the first time around.

Thanks. Kinda a pain to get to that switch but I believe you are correct about the switch... while I am in there might as well replace some of the dead bulbs. It's the 194 size for the instrument panel right???
