Hello all,
Having issues with getting vent heat in my 07 Explorer XLT. Also experiencing engine overheating only in idle. Here are things I've done and looked into.
- Radiator leak fixed. Replaced radiator.
- After replacing radiator, I checked both heater hoses at the firewall, and both are hot.
- I can hear the air shift from the blend door moving when switching from cold to hot on the temperature control dial.
- No clicking noises from actuator.
2 possibly troublesome things.
-Vacuum controlled Heater control valve doesn't move. I can't feel any suction, even with a wet finger on the vacuum hose. I have to manually shift it to open up.
-Small radiator fluid leak at thermostat housing.
I've topped off my fluid previously, but had the same issues. I would think that at least for a moment I'd get heat, even with that small leak. Would a small leak cause heating issues, even after topping it off?
Thanks
