No Reverse

1999 Explorer XLT,. V-6, Automatic Transmission, 2 Wheel Drive. For about a month my linkage was off center. Now I don't have any reverse. All of the other gears work, and I can go on the freeway and passing gear works, and even overdrive. What could it be?
