Ok, I know there has been a lot of posts for shock recommendations, but I'm not sure if they have stock, lowered, or raised Explorers which is a huge discrepancy in regards to shock performance. I have the basic economical offroad explorer setup that most offroaders on this forum have so this message board will be for us. I need to know which shocks are best to compensate for the 1.5" suspension lift, since the ride is just painfully stiff now, especially over speed bumps.
I've heard that the Gabriel VST's are great for the price, but I'm not sure they make them for lifted Explorers, the Rancho 5000s make up for the stiff ride for a moderate price, and the OMEs are amazing but just too damn expensive. Bottom line, which shock (does not have to be in this list) is really worth it for the money?
Any remarks, recommendations, or stories will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot
