Oil Pan Gasket

How hard is it to replace the oil pan gasket on a 94 sport 4X4? Is it the same pain in the $$s as on the Bronco 2?

According to Aldata the only way to replace the gasket is to remove the engine. :frustrate

I'm guessing that means it's a bit comlicated then.

The crossmember gets in the way of dropping the pan, I suppose a skilled a person could cut the crossmemeber out change the pan gasket and fabricate a new crossmember back in, but with all that work you might as well pull the engine.
