I dont know if this will stir any controversy but I am starting to not like gas shocks at all. I went from the old factory oil filled shocks to the "Premium" monroe gas shocks--:thumbdwn: what a horrible ride now. The shocks don't seem to match the rest of the truck's suspension, and when I hit a bump in the road it shutters from front to back like my old 68 fairlane. It feels like I have no suspension now.

What I'm tryin to find out is this: what brand shocks do you like in your 2wd explorers, and what brand oil filled shocks are available?

Thanks

JOE

Gas shocks can seem very stiff compared to worn-out stockers. I went to Pro-Comp ES9000 shocks and they are pretty stiff compared to the 80,000 mile factory pieces :(, but the control is unreal. The truck is Sooooo much more stabil on the freeway it is unreal.

Not a big "Monroe" fan either.

bump..... no pun intended
