Overdrive light

I have a 1999 Explorer Sport.....SOHC .......4 wheel drive...

On the way back from a 120 mile trip, the overdrive light came on......."overdrive off"

Pushing the button on the end of the shift lever does not put it back into overdrive.

Any suggestions as to what's happening?

Do a search for TCC (Torque converter cluch), I am not certain, but my guess is you should look in that direction.

I forgot to mention.........the light is "blinking" rapidly.
