Hi all,
Searched around looking for a potential cause for a minor issue I’ve developed, haven’t found anything conclusive.
4.6L V8 has developed a mild “popping sound” from the engine bay upon cold starts. To me I think it may be detonation or some sort of timing issue. The engine also seems to “hunt” for its proper idle RPM. All spark plugs are approximately 40,000kms old, new coil-on-plugs, alternator replacement is a year old, and so is my optima Yellowtop battery, so I don’t believe it’s spark related. Are there any sensors I don’t know about that could be producing this issue? The engine behaves very well when driving and at higher rpm. The issue appears to be more pronounced when it’s cold morning temperatures.
Thanks for any help with this as always.
