Q Logic Box

I just bought a Q Logic Type 3 box and when I received it today I looked at it and the ports were sealed with a plug. Now after reading through I realized that u can take them off and it came with ports also. My question is what would you reccommed I do keep those ports plugged or use the tubes to make it a ported box? Also if i do make it ported does anyone have any clue how long I should make them for a 12" Kicker CVR ? and if i do go with keeping it sealed how much polyfill should i put in the box .... ???

most people use 1 lb of polyfill per cubic foot of the box.

to know how large you want the ports you need to know the box volume and what frequency you'd like to tune it to

Also need to know what frequency your sub is rated at, see if you can get the diagram to see where its peak low is. Basically if you want real clean tight bass leave it sealed. If you want shake your brain but boomier bass port it.

my personally i port all my boxes.

for sound quality i tune low...around 25 hz range depending on the sub but ive gone all the way down to 18 hz tuning. for spl higher 45+ hz but ive gone as high as 64 hz tuning
