questions about the tranny in xls

i havent had any tranny problems yet but what could i do to prevent ?? i have an 02 i was thinkin tranny flush and maybe aftermarket cooler ???

Change the fluid, and filter every 30k miles, and install an external filter, and cooler.

you have a tranny cooler already. Its a huge one between the radiator and ac condenser. Follow your tranny lines. I have an external filter on mine. Perma-Cool makes a remote filter kit that can us any 3/4 16 thread filter.

DO NOT FLUSH THE TRANS. Flushing causes more problems than it solves. Regular fluid and filter changes every 30,000 miles are all that's needed.

If they use solvent, yes. But the dealers now use heated transmission fluid backflushed through the return coolant line with a "Turbo-Tank Heated Cooler Line Flusher". Or they should be. There's a TSB for it in fact.
