Hi my name is Ed. I have 1999 ford ranger 4.0 that keeps giving po171 & po174 I have replaced intake gasket the last time I had these codes that stopped it for a while then the fuel pump went out it has built in tank pressure regulator with a fuel rail damper returnless system I have replaced fuel pump twice and it seems I have lower fuel pressure again I have been wondering if the fuel pressure damper on the fuel rail could be the problem this is not a regulator I have read that it controls fuel pressure surges it operates off vacumm is it possible that diaphram is bad allowing fuel to bypass into intake causing lean codes also decreased gas milage?
