Rear Toe Links

My 2002 Mountaineer AWD is making a horrable crunching grinding noise with vibration when I turn in either direction at very low speed. Took it to the dealer and was told it was the rear toe links. How would that make the noise and vibrations?

because your rear wheels are toed out or in my truck is doing it right now, good luck getting links
