Has anyone ever done this? I like to replace old or worn parts on my X and before I tear this one out, Id like to know if its harder then I think it is. I checked on the AutoZone site, and found that they're only like $30. Any comments?

It's not too hard, disconnecting it from the pedal and getting the old one out and the new one in through the firewall is probably the most difficult part.

Quite a few members on here have just added a one or two zip ties to the pedal end of the cable to take up the slack of a stretched cable instead of installing a new one. It seems to work well.
