If I fix the problem will the code reset itself or do I have to do it? How do I do it without disconnecting the battery? I don't want to reset my radio.

Under the hood next to the brake booster there is a fuse/relay panel. In that panel you can pull maxi-fuse #11 (driver side second from top 20 amp fuse) for about 10 mins. That is the pcm memory fuse. Its the same as disconnecting the battery without loosing the radio presets.

you can also get a 30$ code scanner off amazon that can read the codes and clear them. Comes in handy

Once you fixed the problem, the code will reset after two drive cycles of normal operation. If you need to take a vehicle to an emission test this is the best way, as test stations cannot test a vehicle with cleared codes until it's had a few drive cycles, typically couple hundred miles.
