I saw a thread on the 02-05 seat belt chime deactivation. Can you do anything about it on our first gens?

YES! what i did was install a switch under my dash to deactivate it in case i wanted to listen to music with my doors open.

under the dash there should be a box, it's really easy to find if its dinging. lol. easy fix is just to pull the plug, but what i did was to take off the door switch and locate the wire that controlled the ding. there are only 2 wires that are the same color on the switch and the box. i can't remember but you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

Just put a switch in the wire and mount it. I put mine to the right of the hood leaver. I can post pics if you need.

i didnt just cut the cord because the same circuit controls the "lights on" ding, and i personally need that 1.
