serpentine belt question any gearheads

I had a quick question, rather, asking for anyone's opinion. I recently had some work done on my '02 X(new rack and pinion) , and while it was in there I asked them to fix the sqeaky belt that was driving me crazy. I got the bill, and they charged me 90 for a new serpentine belt. Which I could stomach, but here I am, 2 weeks later, and my best friend, squeaky is back. Any ideas on why this is returning? Bad pully? IDK. I was hoping to go back to the dealership armed with some knowledge, avoiding a repeat. Any help would be great.
