Am I the only one confused as to where there is a light in or on the shift knob? Perhaps I am a bit dense this morning but would you please explain this a little better for me?

yes mine is a auto and it is the light to tell what gear it is in.

thanks for the info but i still need to know what size it is before i take it apart so i can have the one i need and not try to drive with the dash apart because i didn`t have it.
thanks

Having done this job I can tell you it not a big deal. You are going to have to twist - remove - reinsert and twist the socket by feel because you can't really see the opening for it (it is on the under side of the housing it sits in). I worried that it was going to be more difficult than it turned out to be.

You should be able to get the bulbs at any auto parts store.

Good luck.

The replacement bulb is #74 from NAPA...it cost around $1.50.
