Smell gear oil but i dont know where from????

Last night, well at 1am my friend got his dodge 1500 stuck when i hooked up to him and started pullin i wasnt jerkin i was kinda spiniing i thought i might have burnt up the ford limited slip because only one wheel was spining so i dont know just could someone tell me where its coming from. thanks

Only way to tell is to get under there and start sniffing. You'll narrow it down front/rear/left/right. The reason you were spinning one wheel is because you have a limited slip, it will only "lock" both wheels together to a certain point and then start to slip.
