So I bought a tcase from a junk yard

It came out of a 98 mountaineer.I put it i my 97 explorer.It's a 4405 but it does not have the speed sensor in the tcase for the speedo.Autozone says it is in the trans on a 98 mountaineer and I should have a plug on the right side of my trans and it will go there.Does anybody knew if this is true?

this is correct. theres a write-up here on how to solve that, but hopefully some one more knowledgeable than myself will chime in. definetly search for it though, you should come across it.

I am not aware of this plug but if anyone knows, then please post up!!

I faced the same problem as you and what I ended up doing was swapping the two back halves of the transfer case to retain the speed sensor. But I'm not sure you'd want to go through all this trouble (although it shouldnt take you more than a few hours to swap out the back halves, just be careful, the shift rail is held on by a very tiny pin that is easily sheared off).
