2011 Flex Ecoboost
I have a 2011 Ford Flex but this relates to the Explorer Sport V6 EB vehicle

I'm working on some mods that will be or are available to the public now/soon.
1st PPE Engineering 2.5" catless or catted downpipes. They are Stainless steel either with or without high flow perfromance cats. See Racing Headers for Toyota, Lexus , Lotus, Chevy and Pontiac | PPE Engineering for purchase.
2nd MOAR FUEL - The limiting factor of these motors is fuel, fuel fuel. How to address this? 1st Squash Performance dual in tank fuel pumps with new fuel lines to the car, add a fuel pressure regulator and install 6 injectors in the factory intake manifold. I've been working diligently on this one.

In tank fuel pump - Squash is almost ready to send me the prototype one, should be ready in a couple of weeks. I'm having them install dual flat bottom Walbros.

Auxillary fuel injectors - I bought a spare intake manifold off ebay from Rousch Yates, must be a take off from one of their ALMS motors they are building. The intake is at the shop of Bryon Pryde who is a master in fuel injector for the injectors and fuel rails to be fabbed up, should be done in a week or so.

Auxillary fuel injector controler - I had Split Second Split Second make a custom 6 injector controller for me, it was delivered 2 weeks ago.

Once that's all installed in the next 2 or 3 weeks I'll dyno the car on E85 on stock turbos so that I can see how much you can get out of the car with just a fuel upgrade.

Upgraded stock turbos - I'm working with Turbos Direct to test some upgraded stock turbos in my car, once I get fueling dialed in it should be just in time for them to send me the new turbos. Once I install them I will be re-tuning, hoping for around 500WHP with this setup in my Flex and some 11's this year.

After all that I'll be buying a 2nd motor and purchasing the CP Carillo forged rods and pistons as well as upgrading the turbos again. Goal for that setup is around 800WHP. :)

Auxillary injectors in the intake manifold getting close to completion:

Committed aren't you !!! :)

good job....

Bet you're out of warranty by now !

I'm determined to run low 11's in my flex :)
No issues with anything yet so I still have a warranty, taking it in soon for some cosmetic items to be fixed

How about a tune?

I am tuned by Torrie at unleashed tuning, link is in my signature and my YouTube videos

Injectors are installed! Next step is to get the intake manifold polished then coated:

Do those injectors have a straight spray pattern? I think some are angled or fanned out and you wouldn't want to be spraying onto cast aluminum!

Why not just try to install one of those Mercedes dual pumps?

Yes, they are a straight spray pattern.
Remember just adding a HPFP doesn't necessarily fix the problem, need to also upgrade the in tank fuel pumps as well. The HPFP spill valve also has to be controlled by the ECU, it may not seem like it but this is the path of least resistance according to the research I've done with prominent people in the industry. This is also the path the mazdaspeed guys are going for high HP.

Are you going to port the intake?

Are you going to port the intake?
No reason to right now, usually boost overtakes the need for porting. I'll probably do it during my swap to a new motor next year that will have ported/polished heads and forged rods/pistons in preparation for the much bigger turbos I'll be running.

Squash Performance:

I used their double pump in tank setup on my TT G8 GXP. Andy makes a very nice unit. I converted my returnless setup into a return setup. It worked flawlessly. I was running twin Aeromotive 340s and ID750s. I was at 705whp running 34% duty cycle.

I give Squash much props.

Coating is done!

Install soon!

WOW.... That's what I call commiment! I have a 2011 ecoboost F150 and love driving it. I haven't done any upgrades and probably will limit it to the basic intake, tune, exhaust, but with the work your putting into this, how could I not follow this thread.

Flex got dropped off today to get intake installed and other stuff. I'll post up once it's all done and tested.

So friken awesome can't wait to hear some feedback. Is this thread on any other forum.

I've put this thread on a few forums as there are so many V6 transverse platforms and the F150 would benefit from additional fueling as well.
The home base for my car build though is Ecoboost Performance Forum - Index
Pictures of the install going on:

This is a picture of my 2011 intake vs the 2013 intake. The 2013 intake is about $200 less expensive than the previous year and we couldn't find a difference.

I'm actually looking for a needle in a haystack right now. I want to find a 2011 3.7L V6 4x4 RCSB and hopefully in black that I can lower and swap to ecoboost shortblock while using 3.7L port fuel injection, ECU to do BIG twins on. Looking to make a full time 1/4 mile Ecoboost truck.

Would it be easier to find a RC/LB 4x4 ecoboost and chop the frame and put a new bed? Might be an easier to find option.

Wait the ecoboost set up might have heavy duty suspension and 7 lugs.

Awesome work and thanks for being a pioneer for ecoboost performance!
