Speaker size in '98 XLT?

What speakers are used in the 98 XLTs? I am looking to upgrade from the horrible stock speakers but I have gotten totally conflicting reports. 5x7 says some websites; 6x8 say other, and I've even seen a 6x9 (which I doubt).

so which size is there?

I know this has probably been answered about 50002023432 times; but one last time?

5x7 and 6x8 are one in the same. Either size will fit just fine. 6x9s will fit pretty easily with minimal modification.

okay; now the next question; what would one reccomend with a budget of 200$ for all four speakers; not including installation (I think I know someone who could do it)

they can be had for less than that if you know where to go, but those would be great for your needs. btw- where is waukesha?

Wow; that does look like a good setup there.

Now have I read elsewhere correctly that some work has to be done to put in 6-1/2" speakers into the X? Not sure if that's gonna work if that's the case.

180$ for this good of a setup sure sounds like a deal to me though.


Btw; Waukesha is a fairly big suburb around 20 minutes away from Milwaukee
