I don't have any pics but have a friend who did this and plasti dipped his bumpers. it looks like a xls from a distance but within 20 feet you can tell he used bedliner and it looks good up close. he lives in the Mojave desert now and said after a few years in the sun there he has to redo it. will certainly protect it better than paint.

Dora is a EB Ford Explorer. So it had all that gold trim, I covered it all in Line-X:

Nice EB

Looks good and thanks for the comments I'm going to bust out the masking tape Thursday and see what I can come up with lol the idea I have in my head looks good but that can be a whole other story when you have something tangible to look at

You need to use masking tape with a wire or string in it to achieve your "Cut Line".
Also, I wouldn't advise using the "Roll-on" or "Rattle-Can" Bed liner. Those styles of bed liner are NOT durable.

i slid index cards behind the trim. then taped em down to keep them in place, then taped newspaper over the fenders and body to prevent over spray.

I used bed liner on my 71 early bronco on the fender flairs and for the stripes on the hood as well as the entire interior. put it down with a shutz gun and regular masking tape the lines were good and the product, "Gator Guard" held up for many years of bush wacking... Always looked great

Cheers...

What part isn't durable if you don't mind me asking.

I've only sprayed this stuff on a few consoles and inside the top of my tool box and a few other places here and there.

Never applied it on part of a body that really sees weather

The tough part about painting over the plastics is that they need to be very clean and free of the plastic renewal products. I had some chipping because I used the back to black plastic restore and didn't clean it enough. I have had no problems with my Rustoleum Rattle Can bedliner.

Heres the whole ex first done....

Heres the grill....
