When buying a used or junk yard t-case.
I know it matters whether it's an electric shift or manual shift.
However, if you have an auto trans does the one you're buy need to come from an auto trans vehicle as well or will one from a manual trans vehicle work.
Does it even matter?

thanks
Robert

It depends on if you want a manual shift or electric shift case. The electric shift will bolt up to either an auto or manual trans. The manual shift will also bolt up to either trans, but the shift linkages are slightly different. So, if you're auto, and you buy a manual case that was on a manual, you'll need to do a little bit of fabrication to get the linkage to work properly.

I plan on keeping the electric shift function.
It's the trans I was worried about and have found the electric shift t-case already but it came from a manual trans vehicle.
Thanks
Robert
