TDC using OTC-6488

Got me a tool kit from Santa(Thanks). When I install the crankshaft holder, it is about 3/16 off from the crankshaft position sensor indicator at tdc at 0. The indicator is not bent or damaged. The tools are pretty much brand new.The tool is butted up all the way against the block. Has anyone else ran into this? I am thinking as long as the tool is positioned correctly, just go by that. Any comments from someone who has done this? Maybe it is a non-isuue, I dunno. I just want too get this right the first time
