2002 Sport Trac
I bought a used 02 Sport Trac that came with 20" wheels, the exact size is 265/50R/20. Should I follow Ford's recommended tire pressure for the stock tire size? If not, how do I determine the pressure to maintain? The pressure stated on the tires is the max pressure, not recommended.

I emailed the tire manufacturer, Falken this question:

I have a set of 265/50R/20, S/TZ04's on a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. They replaced the factory 255/70/16's.

My question is what should the PSI be inflated to?

Here is their reply:

Based on the information you provided, we recommend a 38 PSI. This was calculated using your original OE size 255-70-16’s load index was a 109S with a 35 PSI. The STZ-04 265/50/20 111H would require a slightly higher PSI of 38, in order to support the same load.

I say kudos to Falken for even replying!
