torque converter fluid

iv got some quick questions how do i fill the torque converter up again,how come you need to replace the torque converter to flexplate nuts and what happens if i didnt mark wich torque converter studs to flexplate hole and ,is it really mercon dexron three that i am useing in the transfer case.
