I had to replace the transmission dipstick tube because it was leaking when adding fluid. Rusted so much it opened up a hole in the tube. This is a common issue with older 4.0 engines. The dipstick tubes are readily available from the usual part sources.
Replacement is easy if you remove the right front wheel and inner splash shield. Only one nut, 13 mm. Best to use a ratcheting combination wrench on this.
