WOW! Wish I would have found this site sooner...already see lots of info that would have saved me money. Our explorer is a 2004 Limited V8 4x4. I am about to drop my trans pan and change filter. I am then wanting to "flush" some of the older fluid. I have read that you can do the following...

(after reinstalling pan (with 4 quarts in it) and pumping one more quart in)
1. Disconnect transmission lines
2. Plug return line and put 3/8 hose over supply line and place in jug
3. Have someone start explorer and empty a quart in jug, then turn off engine
4. Pump fresh quart into pan.
5. Repeat until fluid resembles fresh fluid.

I have a pump and tool for pan ($1.99 at Ace Hardware). The only information I can't find is where the easiest recommended disconnect for the transmission lines might be? Also, do I need a tool for the disconnect? If so, what size? It is always dark when I get home so I haven't got to look (no shop either). Just trying to prepare so that I can do the project Saturday instead of running back and forth to parts store :D. Thanks for all the help in advance.
