what wire goes to which terminal on starter

I disconnected it to swap engines, and only one post on the starter is labeled "D". There are three posts plus a ground strap coming out of the starter that looks like it should go onto one of the posts. Which wire goes to which terminal?

I checked the haynes manual and it doesn't say.
