- 2006 Honda Accord EX Navi
We have a 2004 Explorer, base or lower model, with 4sp Auto transmission. The Explorer has 153k miles.
It's my mom's and recently when driving around with her I've noticed clunky shifts. I don't think the fluid has ever been changed.
For a Honda Accord, Honda recommends doing drain and fills. This keeps 2/3 of the old fluid in the system and prevents the transmission from having issues when one does a flush on high mileage vehicles.
Are there any special ways of changing the fluid? Maybe something else that could be causing the clunking?
