I'm getting all the pieces together for my trans rebuild and after reading up I am changing the TC ,(5r55e)
which type of rebuilt TC do I need?
Ive seem some with welded blades some with crazy names appreciate some guidance,
heres some of what Ive been looking at,
Im guessing the more expensive ones are for tuned engines,
im not planning any tuning, but I will be towing and some offroading
cheers in advance with any help

For towing and off-roading, a low stall torque converter is better than the stock one.

The lower RPM stall minimizes using the brakes to control speed when you're going down a mountain and have a trailer in tow. As for off roading, the lower RPMs minimizes having to rev up the engine to get over an obstacle.

In general, you do not want a high stall torque converter for 'street' use because these torque converters are designed for reving the engine higher (to get the engine closer to its optimum torque/hp) before the rest of the drivetrain bites.

thanks Iz thats a help
