2008 Explorer V8 Eddie Bauer- Working on a explorer conversion that had me relocate the fuel tank to the rear of the vehicle. In doing so, I had to install an aftermarket in tank fuel pump. Can I keep the factory wiring harness with the fuel pump driver module? Connector has 7 wires going to the tank, 2 larger 12 gauged wires for the fuel pump, two wires for the fuel sender and three wires for the vent. My aftermarket fuel pump has a red and black wire only.
PK-BK to the red wire on the fuel pump and black wire to ground? Will the driver module still regulate the voltage using an external ground? Or do I need to use a ground through the driver module?
I had the PCm programmed to ignore the vent.
I did hot wire the fuel pump from the fuel shutoff switch and it runs and pumps, but I don't need all that pressure at idle.
Any help will be appreciated.
