Body Work & Detailing

Waxing washing, wheel cleaning and body work. This is the place to discuss those topics.
I need to re-paint my ’94 XLT, and I’m thinking to paint it monocromatic green (like the okd 2nd WW Willys), I mean body, bumpers, grille, etc. All green. Anybody have seen a Explorer painted that way? Anybody knows if I can get a photograph of a militarized Explorer? What are your opinion about the project? (If you think that it would be horrible, please let me know!!!) I have installed Perry’s fiber hood and fenders (’98 model) and custom front and rear bumpers (with auxiliary gas tank and tire carrier in rear).
Ok...So I got my grill in today and Fairbanks (storlied) asked me to write up an install and have pictures so he goes nothin! Also my spelling has been to grate since my crash I had in March 2007 so don't get to upset with it... stock grill just pulled it in the garage after removing all of the screws, tool tray and corner lights there are 4 pressure clips holding the grill in 2 of them are under the corner lights and the other 2 you access under the truck with the grill shell removed from the truck, it would be a good idea to remove the egg crate plastic that is held in with 5 push pins the grill, ready to cut the center section out cutting the center out, with a sawzall  the center is now...
im so pissed right now..a buddy of our's was looking for some rope in our garage..my truck is parked right under the shelves..well he pulled some rope and a home sterio(sp?) player fell on my hood:mad:            it left some good sized dent's and BIG gashes in the paint..i called my paint guy right away he said $350 to do the hood..the guy that did it is paying for it..AS HE SHOULD:mad: so as soon as i get my mirror's back im bringin it down to my paint guy i don't even have my license yet and i have to have body work done!!!!! pic's later:rolleyes:
Like many people, I had to do this project in my driveway with some basic tools. I have about $300 in the whole project, not including the tools. I bought full panels at $125 each on amazon. I have another $50 in paint, primer, rustproofing, undercoating (all aerosol spray cans). You can use something like duplicolor to match your paint color, but I chose to use a 2K epoxy aero primer with black chassis paint. It actually looks pretty good with the black plastic trim and its hard as nails. Gosh...I love spring break!! The nice weather here in NC (76 for the high Friday) really gave me a chance to do something productive. As promised from Adam's other thread, I detailed my truck a couple of days ago. As usual, I followed this precedure: Wash Clay SMR Up to AIO What's different about this time is that instead of using SG, I used Maguiar's new product, NXT as a trial and I'm very very impressed. It's very slick and extremely easy to apply. Smells great too!! The best thing is that it's a polymer type wax instead of carnauba so the protection is great!! No wonder why it is highly reccommended by the guys over at the Autopia boards. Here're a lot of pics I took...
waring: i will not take any responsibilities if you build this, get into a accident, and have damage to your or someone else's vehicle. ok everyone, i wanted to buy a roll pan for my explorer, but could not find anywhere to get it (until 3 days after i finished my truck, someone posted a like to a place, but mine only cost me $30, verses $300, as well mine is made from bumpers, not sheet metal). i saw tara's explorer on here(a.k.a. explorersport77) and shot her a email asking for some pictures of her roll pan (which she was very kind to do), as well as the number to the body shop, and a person to talk to. i called them to ask a few questions. his name was jon, and he was very helpful. he had told me that it was made from 3 different...

hey guys. Im planning on getting dual exhaust on my 96 Sport but i have no idea where to start. I dont know how to do it or where to get the exhaust kit. Please explain any details on transforming from a single exhaust to a dual exhaust system. Oh and how much will it cost. Thanks a lot.
Hey guys I just purchased a buffer from a garage sale and I plan to use on my own as well as family vehicles. As I am new to the waxing game I decided to ask first before I start. What waxes work well with a metalic paint job? What are the best steps to take in prep? What tips and tricks do you have? I currently use a falcon wash and wax car soap to clean the car. Keep in mind this isn't a show car just want to make my own car look a little bit better. Thanks for the help. Scott aka trailblazer295 (using dads ID)
