Bed Brake Lights don't work, Cab Brake Light Works

In my 2001 Sport Trac between the E-Brake Release and Hood Release is a small unlabeled indicator that is flashing. My bed brake lights don't work but the cab brake light does. Can anybody tell me A. What the indicator light is for, and B. How is it connected to my brake light problem?

That doesn't really sound like a factory item. Can you post a picture?

Sounds like some type of aftermarket alarm, not related to your brake light issue.

Have you checked for voltage at the connector yet?
