Stephen said:If the load capacity is 1450lbs it is most definately a 3/4 ton truck. Thats what 3/4 ton truck means, it can carry 3/4 of a ton. 3/4 of a ton is 1500 lbs. A half ton truck has a payload capacity of 1000 pounds...or 1/2 a ton.
briwayjones said:That is not correct. A 1/2 has a payload capacity of about 1 ton to 1 1/2 tons. A 3/4 ton has a payload capacity of 2 to 2 1/2 tons approximately. A 1 ton truck has the payload of over 3 tons. The American rating system of 1/2, 3/4, 1 ton ect. is an old rating system. A truck that is rated 3/4 ton means that anywhere that truck can physically go or take itself it can take 3/4 with it. In another words if a 3/4 ton truck can physically go up a 80 degree incline (I'm exaggerating obviously) or very rough terrain it can take 3/4 of a ton with it. The heaviest foriegn pickup so far has a payload of about 2000lbs, 1/2 ton truck by American truck rating.

I will never ever even consider buying a foreign made car, I believe that they are the very definition of crap and nothing will change my mind.

Secondly, CDW had it completly right. Stephen, I see you have listed in your signature that you own a lexus and an infitity. I can't tell you how much I want to T-bone cars like that with my 150 pound homemade bumper everytime I see one. So far I've had enough self control to refrain from actually doing it.
