does anybody have one of these and are they any good?

i saw one at Walmart that looked very good and it had 50x4 watts,

and i'm looking for a cd-player for my car since i took that one out and put it in my Explorer, i saw the price and it was 130 bucks and that really blew my mind!

i was just wondering if anybody had good luck with Sanyo Brand

honestly i didnt know sanyo was still around. if you like the look and are only looking for something to listen to cd's. it might be for you. i wouldnt go for it but thats me. walmart has some cheap pioneers that look good, sound decent, room for improvment(2 preouts) and are a little under 200 (i think you can snatch one up for 160-170)
check it out, find the one that fits your budget and go with it!

it didn't look cheap at all, i thought it was the best looking cd-player there!

it had the flip open digital front on it,

yes i was also looking at the Pioneers, they still have the Sony HU's but i don't think i'd have as good of luck with a new Sony as i did with my old Sony(still kickin' after 4 years after being in 4 different vehicles)

thats cool man than go for it! get some pics if you get it and install it

i never look at the watts they throw out...ive never heard of any deck throwing out more then 15 watts a channel....

Sanyo makes some kick ass cell phones, but that's about all. The HU you were looking at definitely isn't top of the line, but if all you want is something to play your CD's, I think it's a good choice. I'm not sure how long it'll last though. The 50x4 watts is 50 MAX watts. Maybe 15 RMS.

yup 15 sounds about right.. nobody advertises RMS power... damn them

What model from Sanyo is this and how much does walmart have it for. Because I've never seen a Sanyo HU and don't know anyone who has one I'd look at something else espically if there is a Pioneer w/ the same basic features and similar price.

technically 50 max should be 25 rms, but it differs between head units and circuitry. i agree with the 15 estimate because its sanyo... and they dont make HIGH end stuff. :-)

its the First Sanyo HU i've seen,

the price for it is 128 dollars and some odd cents,

yeah i just need a HU for my car cause i took the sony out and put it in my Ex

i was thinking of just sticking with pioneer cause thats what the speakers are

i have the System in my Explorer which sounds pretty decent,

i just want a cd player with 4 6x8's in my car

when i bought the car it only had the stock 6x8's in front and the rear speakers were missing, so i bought 2 new pioneer's 6x8's for the rear, and the front speakers crackle so i faded the sound to the rear so i have to get new 6x8's and whenever i feel like ripping the doors apart which is gonna be a pain the ass!

how is JVC?

they had a decent looking JVC there also

id pick pioneer over JVC. buts its a personal thing really.

I'd choose JVC over Sanyo. That's probably the best brand they've got there. If they have Pioneer, get that (if it's flip down).

Yeah, what ever you get make sure it has a MP3 player in it.

yeah i like that pioneer,

i'll keep looking fo now, i won't need it for awhile

i'm not drivin' the car yet, i have some front-end work to do on it yet and then some paint

This is the unit I installed recently:

550

It seems to work great and have decent power. I had the premium system and bought the scoche amp adapter which matched perfectly. The sound is poor with cassettes but the cd player and tuner work awesome!

Now I am in the process of upgrading the door speakers to JBL 70 watt 5x7s in the front and Scoche 60 watt 5x7s in the rear! I will probably have to replace the amp to get more power to the new speakers but have no idea how to tackle that job yet.

Ben
