I have find this:

For us '97 owners it is cheaper to order the #853 kit and then call PA (520-636-0979) and order the 883 brackets(which are 883-1(Left) & 883-4(right)) which run about $13.63 a piece.

instead of buying #883 and then the stering extention for $55.00.

as you can see below.....

27.26 -->brackets 883-1 & 883-4
137.95 -->lift kit #853
----------
165.21

50.00 -->stering extention from kit #853
144.95 -->lift kit #883
--------
194.95

----------Recap---------------
Body lift Kit #853
brackets 883-1 & 883-4
is what you will need to get to lift the body for a 1997 Explorer 3".

I don't understand all, I buy the lift kit#853 and brackets 883-1 & 883-4

and I have all ?

Thx

yes, thats wat you need for a 3 inch body lift kit, and if you have a manual trans then you need shifter extension

WHat do you mean by brackets? Like bumper brackets?

Body lift is one option for you
Suspension lifts are:
torsion twist
Superlift drop bracket kit
RCD drop bracket but coilover kit
Dixon Brothers long travel A arm kit

thats it currently (pssst check out the Dixon kit if you are serious about a suspension lift)

I bought the pa883 and it came with the steering extention and the correct front bumper bracket. The rear bracket has to be modified. I don't know why you would buy the pa853 and buy brackets. Btw mines a 1997 awd if it matters.

SO did i buy the right body lift? I bought the PA 853 becuase on the forum everyone was saying that the 95-97 X's need to buy the 853 becuase the steering extension is different on the 98 and newer models. If its just bumper brackets thats the problem, i really dont care then, becuase i have a nice custom bumper waiting for me when i get home soon.
