So I've had this week off from work... needed some R&R. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten much R&R, but I have been doing something I enjoy
I've extended the breather lines for both diffs, t-case, and transmission. I installed an auxillary transmission filter, and am in the process of installing a remote mount bypass oil filter kit.
This is where I T'ed the front and rear differential lines. I used up a 20ft chunk of 1/4" hose.
These are the t-case and tranny vents.
I T'ed the t-case and transmission together.
You can kinda see where I have the hose routed to. The dif hoses come up almost right above the control arm, and the t-case and tranny hoses come up closer to the firewall.
Here's the little filters I installed on the end. Schmucks was the only place around here I could find them. I could careless for the chromed look, it just happend to be on the same peg as the black, and I didn't realize 'til I paid for it... ah well.
I used a total of 20ft 1/4" hose for the diffs, and around 8.5-9ft of 3/8" hose for the tranny and t-case.
This is where I mounted my auxillary transmission filter.
Another shot from the ground up. The filter was a tight fit due to the support bracket for the bumper, but I managed. I also had to add about 1.5qts transmission fluid, due to the extra capacity added by the filter, and due to a little fluid that I lost onto the driveway. It is bolted up using 2 existing bolts; 1 was for the inner fender, and I'm not sure what the other was holding on.
I'm still contemplating on where to mount the oil filter bypass kit. I read through aldive's thread, but that's not a very good spot for me... partially because I have a body lift and the filters are VERY noticeable, and because I do go offroad now and then.
So I'm not sure where I'm going to mount that yet.
Figured all this migh tgive people an idea
