ok well ive finally decided on my final plans for my X. I currently have a 98 XLT 5.0 2wd which i like to take to the drag strip (drag strip is major contributing factor to my decision). As far as mods so far i currently have...

A Mac Cold Air intake...

A Mac dual in single out 3" exhaust...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/exhaust-catback-aluminized-9698-explorer50-before-12898-p-853.html

JBA Performance wires...

And an X3 programmer with 93 octane street/performance tune from James Henson

Now for what i plan on doing, I plan on getting...

Torque Monster Headers...

Shift Kit...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/trans-shift-9700-explorer-only-p-862.html

4.10 gears...
(not sure from where yet)

1 3/8 inch lowering kit...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/xspec-lowering-9501-explorer-p-488.html

bigger sway bar...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/swaybars-9801-explorer-xspec-sway-rear-p-357.html

Good shocks...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/shock-9501-explorer-front-lowered-ride-height-each-p-167.html

and to top it all off a new set of wheels...
http://www.explorerexpress.com/wheels-9501-explorerbullit-replica-17x9-painted-25mm-each-p-554.html

And a set of drag radials for the track...
(not sure where from or what kind)

So what do yall think? Any opinions, suggestions, or anything else? lol any input is good input lol ^_^

Sounds like a plan. More so than what im planning with Mine. Gotta go up against the nova when you get it done!

you got a race man lol ull probably beat me but i aint scared to lose ill bet i might surprise ya ;)

i need to still do more mods on my sport

This is the same route I am gonna go once I get the lift off of her. I already have the 4:10's though and mine is AWD. Good job so far CP:burnout:

Pavement pounder! lol :P Lookin like you got some work ahead of ya :D will be worth it when its done though.

Looks like you're buying out the explorer express store! How do you like those JBA spark plug wires so far? I've been looking at the stock replacement motorcrafts which everyone recommends, but they're much more expensive.

all that sounds good that will give it some more power. If your ever in the market i am going to be selling the supercharger off my 01 let me know if your interested. Looks good though

The JBA wires are great no melting all right lengths and the spark along with the new plugs it felt like it was firing much cleaner and more efficiently (plus i like the blue color, goes with my CAI ^_^) definately worth the money and at a pretty reasonable price.

Thx man. With 235,000 miles i dont think im going to mess with forced induction but if my mind ever sways in that direction ill keep you in mind... It wouldnt be for a long time tho, few years if at all so it will probably be sold by then anyways lol.

Do the JBA wires have the metal heat shields around them? If you go with the headers you'll want those shields. And I know I've told you this before in chat, but there are better things you could do with your money than 4.10's there really isn't much of a difference.

losing alot of low end with exhaust and headers im gonna want to get a bit more low end back and 4.10 would be a good way to do that...

you do gain a little hair, but it's not worth the $1k you'll probably spend on them. Trust me, I've been there and done it, and I wish I hadn't. It's just not worth it. I gained less than a tenth of a second at the track, and it has a hair more pep in town off the line. Oh and did I mention that I lost 1-2mpg in town, and 3-4mph on the highway.

just from going to 4.10s??

x2 what techieman says...i use my truck differently but i still agree the improvement wasn't significant enough to feel it was worth the money. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket then what's to stop you, but i'd do everything else you want to do first.

4.56 or not at all, 3.73 to 4.1 is hardly enough to notice

$$$$ better spent on power adder, like turbo or cheater gas :)

torque converter? shift kit?

good luck getting items from Exexpress Are they even still open for business?????
