My 2000 XLT 4x4

So, mine is a 2000 XLT 4x4 with the 4.0L SOHC. Love this engine and its got plenty of power for whatever i need it for between off-roading or towing or anything like that.

I am originally from Folsom, CA (yes that's where the prison is; its right down the street from my house) but I'm going to school in Pomona, CA so if there is anyone down in the LA area PM me or e-mail me and lets get together and do some wheelin'!!!!

Thanks! gonna have a custom grill like stico-o did within the next few days im hoping

I got my grill done the other day just haven't had any time to put pictures up yet so ill get those up tomorrow

Ok so here is my grill. Its somewhat of a writeup but I cant take credit for the idea and Stic-O posted the original writeup and here's the link to his: http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108493&highlight=grill

But first I went to the pick n pull and got a new grill for about $35.

then picked up my grill material from OSH. I got it in already coated black so I didnt have to paint it except where I cut it:

then cut out the middle with a dremel.:

painted the tabs i left on the sides black to hide them(did it while the black grill paterial was out but i didnt get a picture of it so this is all ive got for this part):

then fastened the top of the grill material with some L brackets i picked up from OSH and the bottom with some wire I had laying around.

so i take your still Spring Under in the rear when u did the shackles in the rear?

also , how did u counter the rake that it would have put on the front... Torsion Twist?

yep im still spring under.

and well as the explorers have their notorious rear leaf spring sag so i had the reverse rake of what it is after the shackles with the rear lower than the front. the shackles just eliminated that rake pretty much but sits a little higher in the rear now. i didnt want to put any extra stress on the cv's or get an alignment so i just left the torsion bars alone.

ahh ok .. so basically the WAR 153s acted as a level... and ur basically sitting @ a 3" BL ... how does the 32x11.5 run? rub at all, also hows it preform off road?

the BFG At's are awesome. I drive back and forth to LA for school a lot and theyre holding up really well. I llike them a lot off road but i can tell they lack a little in the mud. they dont clean out when its really slick. but i do alot more on road driving so they round it out really well.

I do have the sport package grey trim so I had to trim a little so they dont rub when I turn but its just plastic so Its not a big deal for me.

sorry for the questions lol... im looking at possibly getting a 2000 model ... thats why i was asking...

I really like that Grille, reminds me of the 2000-ish F-150/s with the honeycomb grille.

Nice work- that looks more in place and better than, well, any of the stock Ford grilles IMHO!
