Shortly after brining my new Explorer home I noticed a rather strong gasoline smell in the garage. After a few days I noticed a small wet spot on the garage floor about the size of a golf ball. After running my finger thru said spot I relaized it is gas.

I got under the car and noticed 2 fittings that appear to be leaking ever so slightly. These 2 fittings are in the middle of chassis about 12"-18" in front of the rear axle.

Anyone know what these fittings are?

I recommend you take a picture of the fittings and the gas on the floor. Take it all to the dealer and let them fix it. The pictures will help you show the service rep, and afterwards you can verify that that really did something to fix(replace) the fittings.

Its for sure going back to be fixed, I just didnt know if this was a common issue. Thanks for the tips. I will do just that.

In my book, there is no such thing as a small fuel leak! :)

I want to say that I remember some people talking about a gas smell in their garage, but for the life of me can't find it in search. Maybe I am just making that up
