2.9 rough idle running lean

i have a 1989 ranger 2.9 that is running lean and showing me codes 13 and 18 I have new fuel filter new IAC both were bad and tested for vacum leaks using carb cleaner and showed no leaks in manifold or hoses new plugs and wires as well truck has 150,000 mi. would like some help if anyone can offer it need truck to pass smog in california

18 #R SPOUT circuit open or spark angle word failure.

...You might want to check and make sure that your EDIS module is not bad. That is what controls your spark for your system..

confusion

Im not running an EDIS system Im 1 year before thatwell thats what I was told if I do have an EDIS module I have no idea where to find it and how to test it. since you said that Im testing the TFI and ICM modules today.

On my 86 2.9 it ran the same way you describe yours is, and for me, it was a bad o2 sensor on the exhaust, the wires were burnt off causing it to run in an open loop and smoke black smoke
