2nd gen factory skid plates

Are they any good?

So mine has the gas tank and transfer case skid plates. And I'm pretty sure I've hit them at least once each.

Obviously they are better than nothing, but are they good enough not to worry about?

I've never damaged them beyond just scrapes and scuffs, but I don't do moab style rock crawling. If you're sticking mostly to dirt trails, mud, and "light" offroading, then I wouldn't worry about hurting them.
