911! Will the ECU from a 94 4x4 work in a 94 2wd?

I've been getting a 513 code and it alludes to a faulty PCM.

Are the PCM and ECU the same piece?

Original ECU has a model VET1 and ends in NB.

The possible replacement I have located is a model UMP1 and ends in MB.

Is the possible replacement ECU compatible with my exsisting one?

Both are 1994 EX Eddie Bauers. only difference is one is 2wd the other is 4wd.

I only have a few hours before I tow a 19' boat from Scranton, PA to Atlanta, GA.

The answer is yes! It seems the VET1 ECU can be replaced with the UMP1 ECU.

I had been getting a 513 code. (Faulty pcm) I picked up a PCM at the boneyard from a similar truck, both 1994 Eddie Bauers. The model numbers were different and the new one cam from from a 4x4. The manager assured me it should work and let me test drive the unit before purchasing. All seems well.
