Hey Guys,
I seen a couple threads on here about the explorers running cold but not really anything helpful to me.
My explorer is running cold, barely off the cold mark. am I wrong that it should be sitting in the middle?
I replaced the thermostat and next is the heater core. I even put cardboard behind the grill with no difference. any help would be awesome. Thanks

a cooler engine is a good thing, but not heating up can be bad. Soooooo.......check on the gauge, I have a 91 that has a little dot on the temperature gauge showing above normal operation.

Thermostat could still be bad.... just because it's new doesn't mean it's working correctly... you could remove it, and put it in a pot of water and slowly heat the water and see if it opens/closes as it should.

Temperature sending unit could also be bad as well... Does the gauge change at all?
