Where would I find the camshaft postion sensor in my ex.? The Haynes manual shows a pic of the sohc and the 5.0 but only says that the 4.0 is located near the back of the engine. What am I looking for ? Also is this an expensive part?
Thanks
Glen

The sensor you refer to can be found in the back of the engine where there would normally be a distributor. You may have to remove the intake manifold to get to yours. You can identify it by the 3 wires that come out of the side of it.

As far as cost, if its just the sensor itself, ( top part held on with 2 screws, if i'm remembering correctly ) roughly around $50 - $60 bucks, but if you have to replace the drive unit as well, ( part that looks like the end of a distributor, that is driven by the cam )then you could be looking at about $300+. It all really depends on where you go.
