96 Ford Ranger wont start after running for a time.

My 96 Ranger will cold start fine but after driving for a while and turning it off it will not start. I've been stuck three times now and had it towed twice. The dealer I got it from cannot figure out whats wrong. They have driven it and when it wont start for them its in the evenings when they have no mechanic on duty. It always starts the next morning. Is there anyone that has had the same problem? Tired of being stranded.
